Our house is located within Gran Pacifica Resort, a remote private community set on the Nicaraguan Pacific Ocean, and it has all the amenities to make you feel good and enjoy your stay in Nicaragua.
Gran Pacifica is on the southern Pacific coast of Nicaragua, just 40 miles from the Managua Airport. There is a clubhouse, pool, restaurant and bar a short walk. There are several beaches on the property. Some of them are prime surfing spots with amazing waves. Each beach is unique and magical in its own way.
The community and houses are safe and secure. Friendly staff maintains the grounds. The area is very kid friendly with pools, horseback riding and plenty of space for kids to safely play. At the clubhouse, the Taska Restaurant features fresh seafood and local meat dishes overlooking the ocean. This is a paradise in the remote and beautiful area of Nicaragua's South Pacific.
Nicaragua offers relaxing environments where you can enjoy nature and discover amazing waves. In our south beaches, great Lake Cocibolca creates special winds that give waves an outstanding consistency and quality for surfing. Nicaragua (The SW region) gets approximately 330 days per year offshore winds.
The main swell season is from March until November, but San Diego Beach is one of the most consistent surf breaks of Nicaragua, and regardless of the swell there is always a wave to surf. Depending on the swell, San Diego Beach is suitable for all levels of surfing.
Nicaragua is still not as crowded as a lot of other countries, but more and more surfers are discovering Nicaragua. Of course you can still beat the more crowded days by taking a boat out or by surfing early morning or late afternoon. Since the wind is offshore it is possible to do multiple sessions per day (depending on the tides of course), so crowds will spread out.
Because Nicaragua is still surfing's best kept secret, surfers at Gran Pacifica enjoy these big, persistent waves all to themselves.
